More ways to bring in a photo, a cleaner interface, and auto-detect that copes with tricky shots.

Photos from anywhere. We reworked the loading screen and cleared away the clutter. Pick from your gallery, shoot with the camera, choose from Files, drag a photo straight into the window, or paste it from the clipboard — copy a picture in a chat and paste it in, no saving first.

Auto-detect for tricky shots. The line now reaches all the way to the tip of a thin tail, and a snake crossing over itself throws it off less often — we're still working on that one. Overall it now handles shots where it used to give up. For the truly hard ones, Premium has cloud detection.

When the reference won't read. Instead of a dead end, the app tells you what to try: draw along the ruler or card with your finger, and if that doesn't work either, mark its two ends by hand and type the length.

Units for your region. On a fresh install in the US and UK, the app speaks inches from the start.

Share cards, redesigned. The photo comes first, the line no longer hides the snake, and growth shows its period — so you can see how long it took.
